The GCI Launches Student Led Publication the GCI Gazette

On February 7th, the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute (GCI) introduced the first edition of the GCI Gazette. This student-led initiative is a unique publication featuring scientific perspectives, on going research at the GCI, interviews with trainees, insightful op-eds, and more.

A result of the dedication, collaboration, and innovative mindset that characterizes trainees at the GCI, the GCI Gazette brings readers to the forefront of advances in cancer research. “This initiative underscores the quality of our trainees and their engagement with the GCI’s mission. Through The GCI Gazette, they are offering the community a unique perspective on cancer research, the work being done at the Institute, and its people,” shares Daniel Caron, Senior Communications Advisor at the GCI.

Editorial team members Yu Gu and Alice Nam explained the impact of working towards creating the GCI Gazette: “It has been an incredibly rewarding experience to be involved with this project since its inception, and to now see the final product come to fruition. The team of Gazette editors and contributors have created a diverse and engaging collection of articles, and we are thrilled to share them with our community. Thank you to everyone who has supported this initiative!”

We would like to extend our gratitude and congratulations to the GCI Gazette editorial team—Yu Gu, Alice Nam, Hailey Proud, Alexandre Poirier, Marine Lingrand, and Ève Mallet Gauthier—for their dedication and invaluable contributions to this publication. Special thanks to Kelly Tindall for the captivating cover illustration and to Anamaria Cardona for her role in the preliminary conception of this initiative.
