Cancer is complex as it is not a single disease but a variety of human diseases. And research is critical to help us understand how it works. This knowledge saves lives and improves the quality of life of those affected by cancer.
While significant progress continues to be made in understanding the biology of cancer, there is still much we do not know about the disease. Despite recent improvements in prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment, there remain significant challenges to reducing the burden of cancer and improving outcomes for patients.
