Building the Future of Cancer Research through our Annual Graduate Recruitment Event

The Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute (GCI) is dedicated to shaping the future of cancer research by recruiting exceptional graduate students from across Canada and beyond. Our Annual Graduate Recruitment Event is a key part of this mission, connecting aspiring researchers with the institute’s vibrant academic community.

Each year, the event attracts hundreds of applications from students who have shown excellence in academics, lab experience, and leadership. The impact of their contributions is underscored by the $1.1 million in competitive funding that GCI recruits have collectively secured over the past five years, reflecting both the high caliber and societal relevance of their research.

"We are privileged to welcome such energetic and enthusiastic candidates," says GCI Student Advisor Leigh Dickson. "It’s always inspiring to see students from diverse backgrounds explore cancer research and engage with our GCI community."

Through the Annual Graduate Recruitment Event, The GCI offers top applicants a unique chance to visit the institute, meet current graduate students and faculty, and learn about cutting-edge research opportunities.

This year, selected attendees may also receive a scholarship for Fall 2025 or Winter 2026 admission, with travel expenses covered for those invited.
